For more than 25 years, each year, Serge Lutens has given art collectors a date for their diaries: the release of rare, very limited edition engraved bottles and lacquered powder cases. A unique testimony in the history of beauty, blending together art and artisanship, brought to its pinnacle by an artist with an uncompromising vision.

The fusion of the designer’s multiple inspirations, each object tells a story which changes over time and with the influences and obsessions encountered: medieval calligraphy, Moorish arabesques, Greek mythology... Sumptuous designs created by Serge Lutens and translated by the know-how of artisans, masters in their art.

Made in Japan, the maki-e (lacquered powder cases) immerse us in millenary lacquer techniques, passed on by our master artisan in Wajima, in the mythical region of Hokuriku.

They are adorned with designs in urushi - a natural lacquer - and each one is embellished with carefully-selected tiny fragments of quail eggshells and platinum or gold powder.

Finally, a demonstration of the French mastery of glass art, our engraved bottles are made by the master artisans at the Ecole de verre de Nancy, an internationally-renowned institution.
